To add a lot of scent to a Carolina rig, try using an industrial foam earplug between the weight and beads. Put on your weight and run your line through the eye of the hook, but don’t tie it. Pinch the earplug together and push the hook through the earplug (so that the line goes through the plug). Remove the line from the hook and add your beads and swivel. Complete the rig with the other length of line and hook. Squeeze the earplug and cover with scent. As you drag the rig across the bottom, the scent will release as it hits rocks and other debris.
